- Walking in the Light -
Last Wednesday we talked about what it looks like to walk in the light and that even though it is sometimes painful, it is how we experience healing. Here is the overview from the lesson: In this lesson, students will learn the difference between walking in darkness apart from Jesus and walking in the light by following him. Walking in the light is better than stumbling around in darkness, but it can also be painful because the light exposes the sins we try to hide from God, others, and even ourselves. Students will discover the freedom that comes with bringing their sin issues out into the light through confession to God and to trustworthy people. They’ll see why it’s easier to heal those wounds when they aren’t hidden in the dark. - The Black Letters of Jesus, LeaderTreks In small groups we had students think about something they have been holding on to and how they can let that thing go, bring it to the light, so that God can bring healing. Here is the parent guide for the next two lessons, "Walking in the Light", and, "Just Be with Jesus". This past Sunday, Noah and I hosted our annual Parent Gathering and we both feel like it was a success! We were able to share what we are celebrating in our ministries, where we have grown from your feedback last year and our hopes for 2018. Thank you for those who were able to attend and for those of you who filled out the survey. If you didn't get a chance to fill out the survey we are keeping it open until the end of January! You can find it under the tab 'Parent Survey'. We greatly appreciate and value your responses! If you weren't able to join us, you can find the prezi we used on Sunday with a majority of the info we shared.
