Happy Monday! Yesterday 5th & 6th graders talked about the Wilderness and how after leaving Egypt, the Israelites complained and grumbled to Moses and even wondered if they would've been better off staying in slavery. God answered and provided with all they needed to survive including bread that rained down from heaven. We talked about how the wilderness doesn't have to only be a time in the woods but that we can experience times of "wilderness" in our own lives when we're going through a hard time, when we feel lonely, when we are struggling with friendships, etc. Ask your student to show you page 95 in their bible and what complaints they listed and how God might respond. Also check out their picture of John the Baptist what God had called him to do. Remind your student to bring their bible! They will use it every week.
7th & 8th graders talked about how God chooses and God redeems. That he has chosen us to bless others, to be a light in the world and to allow him to work through us to bring him glory. They discussed how sometimes we don't feel chosen or protected by God and we feel insecure and vulnerable but that God comes along side us and protects us through those times. Ask your student what activity they did to discuss how "God's got them covered" and who won!
